How to make a Rag Rug from an old sheet


Hello! This week on the Upcycling Adventures youtube channel, I posted a tutorial on how to make your own rag rug using old sheets. You can check out the video below! 

 This is an easy project, that takes very few materials. The skills are easy, and there are only a couple to master. 

Materials needed


  • Fabric
  • Scissors
  • Crochet Hook (Q or larger)
  • Needle
  • Thread


Outline of Steps

  1. Prepare Sheet
  2. Tear Strips
  3. Connect Strips
  4. Roll into Ball
  5. Crochet Chain
  6. Whip Stitch Chain into rug

Tips

  • Have Patience. This project will take a while.
  • Crocheting with a large hook can really tire out your hands and wrists. Take breaks.
  • While tearing the strips fibers can be inhaled, so cover your mouth and nose with a bandana
  • Have fun!
